Description
Investment Consulting Services (ICS) Senior Associates serve as members of various client service teams. Senior Associates receive both formal and on-the-job training to hone and develop their technical skills. Senior Associates are responsible for overseeing and coordinating administrative tasks with the ICS practice including the set up and maintenance of client accounts, transactions and activity; execution of client and firm tasks such as asset transfers and preparation of reports.
Additionally we are currently seeking an experienced Financial Planner to provide sound financial advice to high net worth individuals in various stages of their financial life. This will include, but is not limited to, cash management, debt management, tax planning, investment recommendations, insurance reviews, estate planning recommendations and reviews, retirement planning, and charitable giving strategies. The main responsibility will be to develop, implement, and monitor financial plans across all clients. The Financial Planner will be expected to proactively update financial plans and independently research financial planning strategies to be applied to each client’s unique situation. The planner should have strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to work well within a team, be able to communicate effectively to develop strong working relationships with internal and external partners, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a fast pace environment. At times, the role may require the planner to perform operational and/or administrative tasks to ensure the timely and effective delivery of service and advice. The planner should have strong client service skills, a passion for excellence, and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
The Financial Planner will work closely with all members of the team to ensure the coordination of financial planning and wealth management strategies, including tax planning. The planner will be expected to develop a working knowledge and understanding of the team’s investment philosophy, strategic asset allocations, and investment strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Financial Planner can expect to focus on the following areas:
• Prepare comprehensive financial plans using MoneyGuidePro and be able to articulate the planning process, data inputs, and software outputs.
• Perform estate planning reviews, social security and Medicare analyses, risk management analyses, and retirement projections.
• Assist in preparation and delivery of financial plans while coordinating portfolio construction, asset location, tax planning, and estate planning strategies.
• Develop a working knowledge and understanding of the firm’s investment philosophy, strategic asset allocations, and investment strategies (i.e. money managers).
• Proactively explore opportunities and make recommendations for tax planning and efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date on retirement, tax and estate planning strategies. This may include, but is not limited to attending seminars, internal or external conferences, and actively participating in webinars and conference calls.
• Be responsible for tax estimates and tax updates for clients.
• Assist with the preparation of investment proposals to ensure asset allocation meets client’s goals and objectives.
• Assist in opening and titling of new client accounts.
• Understand and be able to articulate details in client's investment performance reports.
• Support the investment consulting team as needed including operations, marketing and client service.
• Maintain and secure client files and update CRM as necessary.
• Represent Andersen Tax in the best possible way to ensure the highest possible reputation.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree and/or an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD or LLM;
• A minimum GPA of 3.0;
• 2-3 yeard of relevant work experience with an accounting firm;
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills;
• Initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Proficient use of technology including MS Excel; and
• Ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of internal and client personnel.
