Basic Purpose:
Eaton Vance Distributors is seeking an experienced leader to manage the long term strategy and day to day administration of the Global Relationship Management Group within the Retail Sales division for our distribution and marketing efforts that target Brokerage (MSSB, UBS, BoAML), IFI (LPL, Wells Fargo, Ameriprise, etc.) and ASG (RIA, Family Office, etc.) platforms and advisers.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Retail Sales and working in close partnership with Sales Management, Marketing, Product and the Portfolio Teams; this position will oversee the corporate relationship management of Eaton Vance’s strategic partners and represent the entire product line by organizing the efforts of the team to engage with key decision makers throughout each strategic partner firm’s organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
• GRM Management – establish and manage to a consistent framework for all GRM functions including; platform competitiveness, product access and onboarding, research placements and key partner firm marketing initiatives.
• Talent Management & Development – refine and implement a talent management approach with a focus on creating one of the leading Relationship Management teams in asset management.
• Strategy – work with Sales, Product, and Marketing Management to develop and implement a holistic strategy for each strategic partner. Work with appropriate partner contacts to identify and prioritize overall product opportunities and coordinate distribution efforts.
• Business Management – develop a thoughtful and consistent approach to the management of our business within each channel and our respective partner firms. This includes marketing agreements, conferences & events, special opportunities and ongoing business investment.
• Communication - Understand and effectively communicate all Eaton Vance investment management and distribution capabilities. Further, represent Eaton Vance’s partner relationships internally and externally through consistent communication.
◦ Communicate with Eaton Vance field sales force management to identify new opportunities and develop marketing campaigns to increase company sales and marketshare.
◦ Act as a liaison between Eaton Vance and client to optimize distribution opportunities.
◦ Interact with various departments within the Eaton Vance organization to become the “public face” of the firm to our clients.
• Centers of Influence – lead the Retail team’s efforts to establish a consistent model of leveraging key centers of influence through the development of meaningful professional relationships.
• Intelligent Distribution – partner with Sales, Marketing & Product to leverage combinations of firm-based data to segment and execute a targeting plan for the top priority firms
• Research – establish Eaton Vance’s initiative to improve the probability of success with product placement, recommended list additions and model mandate wins through allocating appropriate resources in the form of people, tools, training and focus.
Job Requirements:
• Education
◦ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
◦ NASD Series 7, 24, 63|65 or 66 licenses required.
◦ CFA, CIMA, CPWA or CFP preferred.
◦ CIMA required to be initiated within 12 months of hire.
• Experience & Skills
◦ Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the investment management industry, previous client relationship and sales experience required.
◦ Minimum of 7 years leading and managing teams
◦ In-depth investment knowledge, including capital markets, asset allocation, portfolio construction, portfolio implementation concepts and knowledge of analytical tools
◦ In-depth product knowledge, including retail managed accounts, closed end funds, private placements, offshore.
◦ Candidates will possess 1:1 consulting skills, presentation and facilitation skills
◦ Experience prioritizing partner firm initiatives and focus
◦ Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relationships
◦ Established relationships with senior decision makers at national broker/dealer, private bank and custodial distribution platforms
◦ Self-motivated individual and imperative that candidate works well in a team environment and demonstrates the firms core values
• Track Record
◦ Successful track record of representation of investment strategies to broad spectrum of retail and due diligence constituencies
◦ Candidates must have a history of being able to think strategically, recognize trends and be able to effectively communicate and influence decision makers inside and outside the organization
◦ Candidate must have a successful history of managing and developing a full range of experience levels to drive optimal performance.
• Ability to engage in significant travel is required. The position will be based out of the Boston Headquarters office.
