Description
Director, Product Management is responsible for managing P & L and driving profitable growth of the assigned Flood product(s).
Key responsibilities:
• Owns full P&L accountability for the assigned product and is responsible for establishing, monitoring and influencing all aspects of growth and profitability
• Partners with R & D and actuarial teams on the analysis, development and management of underwriting guidelines and pricing
• Works with marketing team to build and execute on marketing strategy
• Partners with Sales team to develop growth plan and to drive the activities
• Partners with Customer service and Underwriting teams for effective execution and to meet or exceed customer service SLAs
• Works with IT and PMO teams to get the enhancements or new ideas implemented for assigned product/platform
• Actively scans markets and responds to the trends, including competitive practices, regulatory and legislative issues
• Works with legal team to effectively manage Intellectual Property and protect assets
Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
• 6 years of progressively responsible and successful experience in product management, pricing, underwriting, or related discipline
• B.S./B.A. degree
Preferred
Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
• M.B.A. or equivalent advanced degree
• 4 years experience of managing P & L
• Flood or P & C insurance experience
• Experience with product branding, pricing, positioning, and competitive analysis
Other experience:
• Experience successfully communicating with, selling to, and obtaining the support of senior leadership on new initiatives
• Experience successfully developing and implementing new profitable products
• Proven ability to think strategically and innovatively
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate product strategy and corresponding operating procedures to all levels within the company
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
• Problem solving ability and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and align activities and priorities to meet organizational goals
• Strong project management skills and good organizational skills to complete multiple complex tasks in a timely fashion
• Ability to perform in a fast paced, dynamic and ambiguous business environment
• Ability to work with senior level specialists in Legal, Actuarial, Finance, Operations, and Marketing
• Ability to distill and develop action plans and measurements from the strategic plan and to successfully communicate the goals and action plans to others, rally support and drive for the desired results
