Job Description

If you do and you like to collaborate with similar minded people, the global Voice of the Consumer team has an immediate opening for a Senior Director – Strategic Measurement Platforms based at our Foster City campus.
This person will work closely with regional and local marketing teams to understand the health of the Visa brand, the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and their impact on brand building, the satisfaction of Visa clients, and the US consumer share of wallet.
As part of the global Voice of the Consumer team, the Senior Director, – Strategic Measurement Platforms will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining consultative-based relationships with senior leaders across brand and marketing operations. You will lead development of the annual learning agenda for and identify consumer attitudes, needs, behaviors and emerging consumer trends that provide insights to drive business results and strengthen the Visa brand. You must be a self-starter, curious and creative in their thinking; have an expert level of knowledge of market research, analysis and insight generation. In this role, you will:
• Lead the development of consumer insights that craft and inform Visa’s brand strategy and the contribution of marketing initiatives to brand building
• Act as a research authority and leader with vision on Visa’s research knowledge base
• Craft the research agendas for the marketing and brand teams and recommend research design, ensure vendors deliver with excellence, and infuse analysis, synthesis, and actionable recommendations in your work
• Present quarterly deep dive insights POVs on the health of the brand and competitive brands to internal audiences globally
Qualifications
• 12 - 20 years of experience leading custom market research projects (prefer blend of client and vendor side experience, and fintech experience)
• Demonstrated, exemplary people management experience is required
• Deep expertise with application of a broad range of research techniques and methodologies required, including ideation, concept testing, ethnographic research, segmentation and persona development
• Experience leading multi-country global research projects
• Demonstrated success using research to drive insights and strategic implications that lead to business decisions
• Ability to transition easily from technical research to practical business considerations
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and excellent presentation skills, including experience presenting to and influencing executives; Must be fluent in English
• Curious collaborative, and dynamic
• Position will require some travel (up to 25%)
• Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree in marketing, market research psychology, sociology, anthropology, or related field preferred
Additional Information
Partner with marketing and brand management teams to develop a research agenda that improves the Visa brand and informs business decision
Manage prioritization, develop criteria, and collaborate with regional hubs to figure out market level coverage for strategic measurement platforms.
Manage research agency expenses, and identify efficiencies that produce substantive expense savings through re-engineering opportunities, and ensure high-quality deliverables
Identify and implement world-class pretesting, advertising measurement, and digital measurement and optimization methodologies
Demonstrate exemplary research expertise and innovation, including recommended alternative data sources and methods where appropriate
Advise business partners on optimal design, cost, and timing tradeoffs to thoughtful balance depth and efficacy
Negotiate with and manage vendors to lead the research process, particularly in understanding objectives, formulating meaningful design, developing questionnaires and analytic plans, synthesizing findings, driving actionable recommendations and delivering compelling presentations to senior management
Act as the thought leader for the marketing and brand teams by bringing to bear third party industry and internal knowledge across studies on key business issues/topics relevant to the brand
Disseminate case studies on how research learnings are being applied to the business
Build a culture of curiosity, innovation and thoughtful risk-taking
