Description
This is a new position within OneAmerica to assist in standing up a training Center of Excellence (COE) to support our Retirement Services Division. This role insures strong strategies are in place impacting the training needs of our Associates to positively impact our enterprise goals and objectives. The Training Director partners closely with other members of our Retirement Services team to oversee the training function responsible for developing courseware and training curriculum for online and face to face delivery. The incumbent is responsible for leading the instructional designers, developers and trainers as we build out the consistent process and approaches to curriculum design and delivery.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Work with training professionals to build out the OneAmerica for courseware and curriculum design templates including storyboards, flow diagrams, and prototypes.
• Develop the processes needed as we move through our Discover – Design – Deliver operating model approach to content development effectively navigating the relationships between the three phases.
• Lead demand management for the training function by balancing the needs of the business while seeking development and delivery efficiencies along the way.
• Define the assessment methodology required to adequately determine appropriate design requirements (paper based, instructor led, e-Learning, etc.).
• Implement training effectiveness measures to continuously evaluate opportunities to optimize training efforts and the impact on our Enterprise key results.
• Lead the design, build out. And delivery of the onboarding curriculum at the departmental level for our Retirement Services division.
• Develop and manage the schedules and budgets to ensure courses successfully launch according to business needs and proposed schedules.
Requirements
Previous Experience in:
• Leveraging project management fundamentals and applying to the Discover – Design – Deliver operating model.
• Scoping project deliverables, creating project plans, sourcing development resources, and managing stakeholders.
• Leading the build of engaging, effective online and/or face to face courseware or instructional products in multiple formats.
• Developing and managing relationships with multiple departments in creating, maintaining, revising, and evaluating courses.
• Leading and building a high performing team.
• Directing, implementing, and maintaining technology-based training for a geographically dispersed workforce.
• Instructional design and development with a strong understanding of adult learning principles, methods, theories, concepts, and techniques.
• Identifying training needs and applying adult learning theory and education principles to the practice of instructional design and strategy.
