Description
Risk is present in all of Santander’s activities and effective Risk Management is a critical component of the Bank’s success. Through application of the Bank’s Risk Framework and the continuous identification and assessment of risk, Santander seeks to ensure that all of our businesses operate inside of clearly established limits, are able to proactively quantify exposures, and take corrective action when required. As a member of the Risk Management division, you’ll be part of a diverse team of talented professionals who interact with senior risk team personnel, business managers and other Bank disciplines in order to understand business operations and dynamics, and analyze, monitor, and manage related risks.
Duties:
• Responsible for supporting a team of workout professionals as directed by a Workout Team Leader
• Also responsible for managing individual assigned workout cases in line with risk management objectives and corporate budgets
• Responsibilities include proactively managing troubled commercial loan relationships
• Facilitate the resolution of problem loans through improved credit quality or repayment, in a cost effective manner, minimizing potential losses to the bank
• Reduces criticized and classified exposure in line with budget
• Contributes to the reduction of NPLs and charge offs.,
• Participates in special projects, forecasting, and reporting as needed
• Follows up on documentation/ loan processing
• Manages costs and regulatory compliance; manages loan workout process expenses and division and corporate expense targets
• Ensures compliance with training, statutes, valuation and environmental policy
• Maximizes revenue by generating new income via increased pricing, default interest, or deferred accruals
• Generates new income via late fees, fees for waivers, prepayment fees. Restructures with focus on recoveries and collection of deficiency claims
• Responsible for portfolio monitoring and quality assurance
• Manages past dues within guidelines, no maturities without action plans
• Complies with corporate policy especially for provision planning and charge offs
• Supports workout professionals in management of troubled loan relationships
• Facilitates resolution of problem loans through improved credit quality or through repayment
• Reduces problem loans and NPL exposure and Charge Offs

Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years as a Sr Credit Analyst/ Senior Loan Workout Analyst, Sr Portfolio Mgr, Relationship Manager or 1-3 years as a Loan Workout Officer
• Ability to work independently, interact with all levels of management and work within a team environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Moodys or comparable statement spread technology
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.,
• Thorough knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, Credit Policy, applicable laws and industry data sources
