The role is to lead the Credit Risk function for the unsecured lending acquisition business. A key component is monitoring on-going credit performance and adjusting strategy. This position directs expected account distribution, credit risk profile/loss forecasting and ensures profitability and corporate risk appetites are met. The successful candidate in this position will work with Senior Management, Marketing, Finance and other business partners to develop and analyze products, offers and portfolio strategies to achieve profitable growth while managing the level of credit risk.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement acquisition credit risk strategies to acquire unsecured consumer loans: underwriting, loan amount and portfolio monitoring
Ensure that all new accounts meet profitability and credit loss hurdles and are within corporate risk appetite
Lead credit teams to develop and maintain credit criteria for new and existing products
Monitor loan performance trends and adjust credit strategies as necessary
Apply mathematical modeling and forecasting techniques to forecast and monitor product performance related to profitability and credit loss.
Communicate effectively with peers and senior management about credit performance and ensure products are managed within the company's risk appetite.
Maintain and develop new credit criteria for existing and new products.
Develop MIS to monitor the application and portfolio trends, adjust policy and strategies wherever necessary.
Manage third party vendor relationships.
Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
Skills
Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit risk management in a strategic planning, sophisticated analytics and/or operations development position.
Minimum 5 years leadership experience.
Bachelors degree; Masters degree in Statistics, Math or Business preferred.
A background in sophisticated quantitative environments within world-class organizations, preferably in mortgage industry, credit card issuing, or a related industry.
Excellent communication/influencing skills and ability to navigate through matrix, integrated organizational structure and reach out to various constituent groups.
Through knowledge of product segmentations and credit loss activities and key drivers.Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally managing teams.
