Within Capital Group, North American Distribution oversees sales and distribution across various client groups including: individual investors, retirement plans and institutional clients. Our efforts are focused on positioning Capital Group as the active investment manager of choice and providing superior service, sales and marketing experience while broadening our business.
The Retirement Income Strategy team leads the development and delivery of insurer wholesaler and financial advisor-targeted content, presentations and whitepapers that articulates the value of mutual funds and variable annuity guarantees in client portfolios. The Senior Strategist Retirement Income is responsible for partnering with insurance, institutional and wealth management sales force members to develop new and strengthen existing relationships. He/she will deliver retirement income expertise and thought leadership regarding the value of integrating insurance guarantees and mutual funds to achieve better client outcomes, as well as convey CG’s retirement income thought leadership to sophisticated external clients and prospects. Additionally, the Senior Strategist will demonstrate full and complete knowledge of Capital’s retirement income product offerings, investment solutions and economic outlook and will serve as a subject matter expert to internal product and business development teams.
Responsibilities:
• Works collaboratively and travels with sales force members to provide retirement income expertise and grow sales.
• Serves as a specialized resource that our sales force can leverage to deepen relationships with their best retirement income clients and prospects.
• Supports sales force in selling Capital’s entire insurance and retirement income product line
• Delivers Capital’s retirement thought leadership to audiences of various sizes in one-on-one meetings and at industry conferences and client events.
• Participates in development efforts for Capital’s retirement income products.
• Provides real-time voice of the customer in go-to-market strategy development.
• Acts as the conduit for information between the retirement income marketplace, Capital’s business leaders and the sales force.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a retirement sector client-facing role and a financial services industry and retirement income expert.
• In-depth understanding of the variable annuity industry, the historic and current state construct of guaranteed withdrawal benefit design, variable annuity accumulation and decumulation strategies, and the use and unique characteristics of fixed, index and variable annuities in an investor’s overall portfolio.
• An accomplished public speaker capable of successfully delivering intellectual capital content to various audiences with a high degree of credibility (large or small insurer meetings, industry and association conferences, broker/dealer events and one-on-one meetings).
• Highly motivated and self-sufficient, with strong time management skills.
• Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders, and external contacts.
• Bachelor’s Degree (relevant field of study); advanced degree, CFP or CFA, ASA or FSA, CLU or ChFC.
