Responsibilities
The Community Development Finance Analyst II is responsible for supporting the Community Development Finance Manager with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Investment Portfolio administration and management, including, but not limited to, preparing CRA investment presentations for Committee approval, community development investment analysis, monitoring the investment portfolio, and relationship management for the portfolio of Community Investments, which include Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs), Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), and other community development investments. These transactions are highly visible within the bank and have substantial external impact in raising the bank’s profile in the communities it serves. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
• Preparation and presentation of annual reviews for existing investment opportunities and evaluation and presentation of new investments. This includes detailed financial analysis and preparation of investment scenarios for review by Manager and Investment Committee.
• Analyze community investment opportunities by evaluating financial statements, modeling returns, and conducting due diligence on general partners and borrowers.
• Assisting the Community Development Finance Maanger with negotiating and closing new investments.
• Communication with internal and external parties related to the processing and maintenance of the investment portfolio; this includes external communications for data collection and internal communications (processing wires, closings, etc.)
• Ensure monitoring and compliance tasks are completed timely and accurately for the Bank’s New Markets Tax Credit subsidiary.
• Preparation and maintenance of tax credit amortization schedules.
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in real estate, finance, urban planning or similar field and and 2-3 years experience required; Masters degree preferred.
• Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Experience with IBS/ACBS helpful
• Strong critical thinking ability; detail orientated
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications
• Knowledge of Community Reinvestment Act and Community Development Finance preferred
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong commitment to community development and relationship building
