Job Summary
Reporting to our Chief Investment Officer, the Vice President, Corporate Development will be an integral part of our team which develops inorganic growth opportunities for CNO – from idea to business case to deal execution and post-deal integration – taking a holistic, and cross-functional approach.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Identify, evaluate and lead public and private acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments and other inorganic opportunities that support the development of our long‐term strategy.
• Lead all aspects of assigned transactions, including sourcing, qualification, initial strategic fit and rationale/pitch, financial modeling, due diligence and closing & integration activities.
• Assist in creating communication internally and externally regarding potential transactions. Contribute to regular feedback reports containing analysis on the company's opportunities, activity within the core industries and peer companies, and the stock market.
• Assemble assigned CNO business areas in generating ideas and opportunities that accelerate growth or address inefficiencies. Develop and maintain internal network of contacts to validate concepts, support information gathering and facilitate socialization of ideas.
• Maintain relationships with external partners and potential sources of merger, acquisition, partnership or strategic investment transactions for our insurance and asset management activities.
• Identify industry trends through market and competitive research.
• Proactively identify, analyze and address complex business issues and develop actionable solutions.
• Ensure integration and transition plans are developed, assigned and executed post transaction.
Job Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in developing and executing mergers, acquisitions, partnerships or strategic investment transactions.
• MBA from highly rated business school, or similar level of experience and skills; CFA preferred
• Strong analytical skills, fluency in performing rigorous financial, valuation and broad quantitative analyses and familiarity with accounting & key operational metrics
• Excellent judgment, mature personality, and experience working with executives; a sophisticated and, worldly businessperson.
• People leader – at home in at driving a highly engaged, provocative and results oriented culture.
• Team player, pro-active and action oriented, anticipates needs, is assertive, and is highly accountable.
