This role will lead all internal and executive communications for Citizens’ Consumer Banking function and Executive Committee members. This includes the development, management and successful delivery of high-profile communications programs aligned to a best-in-class internal communications strategy. By creating an effective internal communications infrastructure, this role will ensure business line teams, leaders and colleagues across the enterprise understand the Consumer business strategy and the role they play in the success of the business and Citizens. This role also manages a team through effective coaching and development. Significant executive level interaction is required, as well as an ability to navigate a highly-matrixed organization.
Executive Leadership Support – Develop a communications strategy for business line head and executives. Be a thought leader and contribute to Executive Committee member’s senior leadership team discussions by understanding the business, assessing implications and quickly making recommendations.
Business Line Communications Management – Direct management of a team that delivers all internal communications for the Consumer Bank business lines delivered through a variety of integrated media (video, audio, written publications, on-line, face-to-face, and internal social). Ensures all communications are aligned with business strategy and corporate messaging.
Cross Functional Integration – Collaborate across the corporate Internal Communications team, Media Relations, Marketing and Digital functions to ensure business line communication plans are holistic and adhere to existing company-wide strategies, key messages, delivery standards and policies. Take a high-profile role within the Executive Communications team to develop best practices and drive innovation and thought leadership.
Colleague Engagement – Working closely with the Consumer Banking Executive Committee, and partnering closely with Consumer Banking Human Resources, drive the Colleague Engagement strategy communications and oversee efforts including action planning, reporting and communication.
Leadership – Lead by example and educate internal colleagues on the business line. Provide updates on the business line to the team to ensure team is well educated and knowledgeable of the business line. Determine new processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
Scope of Position: This role directly supports a large and complex division on a national level. It is also a direct contributor to the company-wide internal communication strategy.
Impact of Position: This role manages the overall communications strategy for the Consumer Banking business line executives and colleagues. This includes oversight of the strategic development, management and distribution of all internal communications within this business line. This position is a direct support to the Executive Committee Executive. The role also directly impacts company-wide communications.
Qualifications
Skills:
• Degree in Communications or related field and 12 plus years of experience
• Significant experience in financial services, preferably retail banking
• Extensive experience in developing and executing employee communications strategies and programs
• Proven communication skills, significant experience influencing and negotiating with top executives
• Outstanding strategic, written and oral communication skills
• Excellent project management skills and experience
• Experience leading and motivating a team of professional direct reports and matrix reporting relationships
• Emotional Intelligence, including outstanding interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills and an including and collaborative mindset
• Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment
Type Of Work Experience:

• 5 years of Financial Services and/or Retail Experience
• 10 years of Leadership / Management
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Monday - Friday
