The Director Product Management owns product strategy of Tax Credits and Incentives (TCI) product line, primarily focused on the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and the “lead with WOTC” strategy to set up compliance product bundling, cross sell and partnering opportunities. This position develops and executes on the plans necessary to support sales of TCI products to new clients/markets/segments and retention of existing clients. The product manager is the chief evangelist for the TCI product line both internally and externally, identifies market problems, quantifies the opportunity, defines requirements, manages the product roadmap, defines distribution strategies and oversees the launch of new products. The position works together with Product Development in an agile environment to build enterprise class software solutions. The position requires significant internal partner, external partner, client and prospective client interaction, as well as interaction with key legislators and regulators.
Responsibilities:
• Market Opportunities: Discover opportunities in the market by interviewing customers, recent evaluators and untapped, potential customers. Validate urgent problems to show their pervasiveness in the market. Apply knowledge of legislative and regulatory changes to evaluation and determination of opportunities.
• Market Definition: Map needs with new target markets and analyze the market segments to actively pursue. Ensure that the targeted segments are large enough to support the current and future business of the product and the product’s position along with other Equifax Workforce Solutions compliance products.
• Business Plan/Case: Perform an objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment. Articulate what you learned in the market and quantify the risk, including a financial model.
• Product Roadmap: Illustrate the vision and key phases of deliverables for the TCI product line.
• Distribution Strategy: Determine which channels best align with the TCI markets' buying preferences, as well as the overall strategy of the EWS compliance products. Nurture partner relationships as needed.
• Positioning: Provides Product Marketing with inputs for creation of product positioning, value propositions, and challenger-based messages to differentiate our TCI and compliance solutions.
• Product Profitability: In collaboration with Sales, Finance, Account Management and Operations, monitor and analyze key performance indicators to determine how well the product is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations, and ultimately, how it contributes to profit. Recommend product adjustments as needed.
• Thought Leadership: Provides thought leadership through webinars, whitepapers, conference speaking engagements, case studies and other channels.
• Customer experience: Understands how clients use our solutions (delivery, on-boarding, experience, etc.); Collaborates with product marketing to develop and maintain key buyer and user personas; Understands the buying process.
• Competitive Landscape: Understands and communicates the competitive landscape for the tax credit products as well as the landscape for TCI offerings in the HCM’s, payroll providers, background screeners, etc.
• Event Support: Participates in trade shows and annual Equifax Workforce Solutions Client Forum. Prepare and deliver content at client advisory board meetings and virtual focus groups.
• Collaboration: Collaborates with other teams, such as other product teams, pricing, product marketing, sales, account management, marketing communications, finance and technology.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, M.B.A. preferred
• 5+ years experience in B2B or B2C software product management role/sales/marketing in a complex business environment
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with direct reports, peers, managers, and senior management within and across organizational lines, as well as with clients, prospective clients, partners and prospective partners.
• Track record of successfully delivering high quality projects on time in a fast-paced/rapidly changing environment.
• Strong analytical skills as evidenced by a proven ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze product concepts, strategic opportunities and competitive threats
