Description
The Business Banking Division provides banking products/services to local businesses with up to $25MM in annual sales. The Corporate Development Director will work within the Business Banking Strategy and Business Performance team with responsibility for developing data driven strategies, insights, and program recommendations that improve overall performance and achieve business objectives for the division. The Corporate Development Director is responsible for supporting the development of the overall Business Banking strategy, including the establishment and tracking of key performance metrics. This may include competitive/market/customer analysis, planning & forecasting, sales performance analysis, and analytics or by acting as subject matter expert for multiple long or short term projects/analyses and for supporting operational processes.
In addition, the role will support the development of the annual strategic plan and budgeting process from a business perspective by coordinating with subject matter experts both within Business Banking and bank-wide. The role will also be responsible for reporting performance to the executive management team and preparing monthly Business Reviews, in conjunction with inputs from subject matter experts. The role will represent Business Banking in key bank management forums and lead transformation projects, when necessary.
The role will directly support the Director of Business Banking Strategy and Business Performance, but will also provide direct strategy support to the overall EVP/Head of Business Banking.
• Develops Executive reporting for retail executive management, CEO, and Board on a monthly and quarterly basis. This process includes the coordination of monthly business reviews, standard reporting and ad-hoc analysis that may be requested.
• Represents Business Banking in bank-wide forums as necessary. (e.g. Retail partnership meetings, strategic planning sessions, etc.)
• Conducts overall competitive assessment of the market including identification of key trends and opportunities. Identification of internal gaps and weaknesses.
• Drives the definition and delivery of key strategic projects across Business Banking. Develops key performance metrics and tracks progress against delivery.
• Responsible for risk management and mitigating obstacles. Proactively addresses audit concerns and assists in addressing regulatory findings, as necessary.
• Development of the strategic plan and on-going monitoring of performance against targets and initiatives. Coordinates multi-functional teams and collects input from subject matter experts to ensure alignment and delivery of plan goals.
Qualifications
• 12 - 15 years banking related experience. 7+ in Financial Services. Experience preparing and reporting at CEO and Board level.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to effectively interact with a variety of individuals internally and externally and at all levels.
• Exceptional problem solving, organizational and process improvement skills
• Executive presence and proven ability to interact at the most senior levels in the organization.
• Strong analytical capabilities to resolve problems and recommend customer experience improvements
• Strong leadership skills; ability to develop relationships and influence team members indirectly,
• Strong overall business acumen with an ability to understand the direction and goals of the business and provide the customer experience support necessary for the line's achieving those goals.
