Job Summary:Position is responsible for external and internal communications for Consumer Banking group, which is a key business under the Regional Bank. The communications professional in this position will have proven experience in counseling and influencing senior executives and producing various communications including, but not limited to: talking points, blogs, leadership messages, Q&A/briefing documents, speeches/remarks, biographies, news articles for the company’s intranet, web content, survey instruments, and other materials, as required. The successful candidate will provide strategic communications support for internal company meetings/conferences, live events, select corporate/business line video content and other messaging. Critical to the position is the ability to keep abreast of public policy, regulatory and political trends that impact the banking and financial services industry.
Responsibilities:
• Primary duties are to support Branch and Private Banking with internal and external communications, including, but not limited to: all aspects of media relations, drafting internal communications for the company intranet, developing leadership communications (i.e., organizational announcements, blogs, etc.), messaging documents/scripts for bank-sponsored events and other communications duties as assigned.
• Position will support additional lines of business within Consumer Banking.
• Maintain strong relationships with key executives within the Consumer Banking group, seeking story ideas, problem-solving and strategizing on a range of issues impacting the businesses.
• In addition to the formal planning process, consistently develop and present creative and strategic communications recommendations to key stakeholders in support of their business objectives and in support of bank goals.
• Seek opportunities to build relationships with key leaders within Consumer Banking.
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications programs and strategies.
• Monitor effectiveness of campaigns to make future recommendations.
• Communicate results to management and track results for KPI purposes.
Qualifications
• Requires a minimum of 10+ years of combined experience in corporate communications, either in a corporate communications division or at a consultancy.
• Prior experience with a publicly traded and/or financial services company, such as banking, insurance or investment management, is preferred.
• Must be an effective communicator, capable of writing clearly and concisely; able to use sound judgment to gather, manage and impart information to the media and/or various other internal and external audiences consistent with the bank’s messages and positioning.
• Track record of interacting with members of the media; proactively identifying, developing and pitching stories to journalists.
• Familiarity with social media, and experience in leveraging the various platforms for communications purposes in a banking environment.

Education:
• B.S. or B.A. in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field. Advanced degree is highly desirable, but not required.

• Strong project management skills and experience, excellent reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills
