The Treasury Market Risk Analyst is responsible for reporting and monitoring trading risks to management according to prescribed Market Risk policies. This includes model validation using QRM, sensitivity & concentration limit monitoring, and stress test analysis for Corporate Treasury. Produce periodic risk reporting for management review, and to support financial and regulatory disclosures. Interact with trading and risk management to investigate and document any limit excesses in compliance with prescribed policies. Perform necessary steps to ensure the integrity of our risk reporting. Interact with Model Risk Management staff in the development of new risk reporting initiatives, and testing of modifications to our risk reporting systems. Liaise with internal and external auditors and regulators to ensure compliance to prescribed standards. Role at this level requires understanding of financial markets, varied trading instruments, and the detailed process by which risk is measured and monitored. This function will assist in the development and implementation of procedures to measure and monitor multiple risks hierarchically and across the entire organization. Understand the responsibilities of other departments in daily interactions when investigating and validating reported changes in risk. The sheer breadth of financial market instruments and related data required to be effective make this monitoring function extremely challenging. Anomalies in risk measurements need to be investigated through collaboration with trading staff, operations, technology, and quantitative staff, which requires a high degree of subject expertise in varied disciplines. In this role, analytic skills are critical, and one must be able to draw valid conclusions after examining multiple sources of information, and document decisions made for audit purposes. Strong mathematical ability is important, as well as being detail-oriented, and extremely diligent. This position will have an impact on the businesses that it monitors, as those businesses must operate within prescribed risk limits. Through collaboration with our trading businesses, we design measures that are meaningful to both risk management and business unit management. This role requires regular (written and oral) interactions with trading management, technology, operations, audit, accounting, and quantitative staff. Good inter-personal and negotiation skills are a key factor to accomplishing goals when interacting in a complex, multiple-priority environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. MBA is preferred. 4+ years is experience.
