The Director of User Experience (UX) is a " vision caster" role that will re-imagine what UX/UI can be for a leading regional bank by establishing Citizens Bank’s "Green Pixel Studios". Green Pixel Studios will be charged with pushing the envelope on user experience design in digital.
This role supporting the consumer bank reports to the Head of Digital Banking and will set the stage for the evolution of user experience in financial services. The candidate should be a strategic visionary that can establish a cutting edge UX/UI practice; as well as, lead a team through the transition from outsourced UX/UI to an in-house team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about envisioning experiences that push imaginative solutions to enable the bank’s clients to fulfill their financial dreams.
Green Pixel Studios will be charged with devoting dedicated time to pursuing innovation and delivering UX/UI expertise to the Bank in its digital projects. This role with the studio team will support the Consumer Bank in all digital business areas that include the dot com storefront, sales applications, the secure user environments of online and mobile banking, and internal sites as needed. The UX/UI vision caster will possess keen awareness of user pain points and work with various teams in the organization including marketing, IT, customer experience, strategy, etc. to search out ways to solve for a delightful user experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Innovate and bring creative ideas to the forefront with visually inspiring designs
• Passionately pursue the improvement of the digital user experience for Citizens Bank
• Articulate a vision and lead the direction of experience design for the bank
• Develop intake and processes for managing UX/UI work flows
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to define and implement innovative solutions
• Develop a team that can rapidly prototype, innovate, and iterate solutions
• Expansion and development of the UX/UI team as thinkers, leaders and innovators
• Provide team development through leadership, meaningful feedback, timely critiques and ongoing mentorship
• Elevate strategic thought and design processes within the UX/UI team and deliverables
• Cultivate partnerships across the bank to develop a strategic approach to projects to deliver continued success for the organization
• Develop communication artifacts necessary to articulate the vision and delivery of work from the UX/UI team
• Roll up sleeves and step into UX and UI tasks as needed to ensure delivery of objectives
Qualifications
• 7-10 years in UX/UI fields
• 5+ years managing a UX/UI team
• Outstanding portfolio of UX/UI work
• Creative vision
• Strong communication skills required. Ability to comprehend and translate for different audience groups the work efforts and rationale behind them. – Storytelling and presentation skills a must
• Digital Agency experience preferred
• In depth knowledge of user interface design principles, human factors, user-centric design processes, interaction design guidelines, usability testing methodologies
• Experience in commerce or transactional digital experiences
• Experience with Agile Methodology and Scrum working groups
• Experience with resource management in a production deliverable setting
• Experience with HTML, CSS and Java Script
• Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud
• Experience with other design and prototyping applications such as Sketch App/Invision app
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm; Monday - Friday
