Business Systems Analyst
Job Summary
Provides senior-level business systems analysis and software support to the IT Work streams by ensuring all system requirements, functional design, and detail specifications are documented per the banks regulations. Work with our Quality Engineering team to ensure that testing and issues are identified, documented, and resolved within appropriate timeframes. Responsible for facilitating the effort for functional requirements, feasibility studies, program specifications, user test plans, user documentation, and user training plans. Functions as an internal consultant for applications support departments and provides internal consulting support to other areas of the bank.
Responsibilities
• Functions as an internal consultant for the Core Banking Technology Team for design review and quality, to ensure the product meets both time to market, and budget expectations.
• Assists in the development of design and functional specifications, produces deliverables related to the project(s) assigned and assists in post implementation support and system enhancements.
• Assists in identifying the business needs of assigned user areas and translates these needs into system specifications.
• Conducts user interviews as needed, contacts vendors, and performs independent research as required. Identifies and assists in resolving system, procedural or operational problems and makes recommendations to improve business functions.
• Responsible for gathering, compiling and synthesizing information with regard to technology processes or systems.
• Possess experience in implementation and support of resource planning.
• Actively ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies and procedures.
• Prepares formal proposals for management, recommending system solutions.
• Assists in defining project scope and objectives for projects.
Qualifications
• A minimum Bachelor Degree, 5-7 years of project management experience – preferably from a traditional manufacturing environment
• PMP certification preferred
• Self-motivated, quick and assertive
• Extremely detailed oriented and organized
• Exceptional time management skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Cool, calm, collected and collaborative work well under pressure and comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environments. Can shift readily between the "big picture" and the small-but-crucial details, knowing when to concentrate on each.
• Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals.
• Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
• Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
• Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.
• Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them. Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required
• Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, VISO, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• 5-7 years’ experience IT Project Management Experience supporting Banking or Financial systems IT Projects at a program level.
