Job Summary:
The Senior Product Manager position will have the primary responsibility for developing and implementing real-time payments products and services within the Transaction Banking product group. This position will be responsible for providing the leadership necessary to ensure the Bank’s real-time payment services remain competitive and in line with the Bank’s overall growth strategies.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop a multi-year real time payment product plan that includes an extensive roadmap of new and enhanced products and services designed for large corporate and commercial clients based on the 36 effectiveness criteria defined by the Federal Reserve’s Faster Payments Task Force, and changes in the industry; technology; competitive and regulatory landscape; marketing and pricing strategies; and competitive analysis.
• Work with the Fed, The Clearing House, financial institutions, vendors, and industry experts relating to real-time payments forthcoming rules and regulations, industry formats, tokenization, directories, and fraud prevention.
• Coordinate and drive product development/management activities with internal departments and outside vendors to expeditiously promote and deliver quality products to the market place and move the Bank toward a real-time 24/7/365 environment.
• Analyze and evaluate new concepts and develop marketing strategies to determine feasibility and market potential.
• Advise management of potential delivery capabilities through preparation of strategy presentations or papers that define markets, product design, profit, marketing costs, alternative systems, operating expenditures and capitalization.
• Make major strategic recommendations to management through presentation of proposals that analyze internal operating procedures, user groups and customer trends, pricing cost and internal/external technology and procedures needed to effect change.
• Responsible for preparing annual Bank forecasts of product volume, revenues and costs. Coordinate the development of operational systems and procedures between multiple users and delivery departments.
• Develop and supervise the writing of internal and user procedures and guides.
• Develop strategies for pricing, advertising, marketing and training for assigned product lines.
• Determine cost effectiveness and compliance with auditing procedures and legal requirements. Approve daily operational problems regarding customer implementation and vendor technical problems on an exception basis.
• May assist in the overseeing/training of more junior level employees.
• Actively ensure compliance with the Bank's Business Standards of Conduct and all Patriot Act, CIP, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, and other regulatory and compliance policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in any required corporate and business line Compliance Training.
Qualifications
• This position typically requires a degree from a four-year college (e.g., B.A., B.S.)
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• An advanced degree is preferred or equivalent work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• A deep knowledge of domestic and international payments types, systems, and formats including, real-time payments, real-time gross settlement and account transfers, ISO20022, and low-value payments both domestically and internally.
• Must be able to creatively resolve issues ensuring compliance with all regulations
• Ability to work independently and with management direction
• Some travel will be required
