Business Overview:
US Residential Mortgage Warehouse Lending is being developed as a new business activity of BNP Paribas (BNPP). The strategic direction of the mortgage business is to build a mortgage platform which enables BNPP to participate in a broad segment of the mortgage origination and distribution value chain. The first step and foundation of our initiative is the rollout of a Mortgage Warehouse Facility which provides short term liquidity to Originators. The access to product and the relationships developed through the Warehouse business will enable BNPP to compete successfully in the securitization arena.
Responsibilities:
Working on all aspects of warehouse lending operations, including client onboarding, client operations relationship, pre-funding, loan funding and settlement, custodian relationship, risk monitoring and mitigation, collateral management, cash management, and reconciliations. The position requires extensive knowledge of the warehouse lending business and operations, mortgage banking, and mortgage collateral.
• Provides quality service that supports the lending activities of a designated customer and marketing group. This includes fostering a congenial, cooperative and professional working environment.
• Ensures that transaction processing is consistent with departmental procedures and is in accordance with established approval guidelines.
• Reviews the reconcilement of (cash disbursement) suspense dollar accounts for the team on a daily basis. Responsible for the timely monitoring, resolution and reporting of all open items.
• Ensures:
◦ Review of subject reports for unusual items/exceptions, ensures investigation of such items and escalation to management as needed. Ensures responses are made on a timely basis.
◦ Adherence to all external regulatory and internal policy guidelines as dictated by the position.
◦ Assists on Audit points and close and timely follow-up on all action points.
◦ Investigates and resolves any inquiries or transaction anomalies on a timely basis, and or within established timetables, received from customers or any internal sources.
◦ Participates in the maintenance of departmental policies and procedures, including the review and drafting of polices for specialized processing areas under the team leader’s responsibility.
◦ Routinely reports any problematic, irregular transactions, administrative and or personnel issues to management deemed to present any potential risk or exposure to the bank.
Minimum required qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in warehouse operations is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Mgt. and/or related field of study.
• The ability to manage primary relationships with the business and credit risk is essential.
• Knowledge of fraud prevention, legal framework, and collateral mark to market.
• Experience in testing and implementing systems and data feeds, developing reports, establishing controls, and writing procedures.
• Proficiency in Windows environment and MS Office products – Excel essential.
• Flexibility in working hours as needed to complete responsibilities
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Good communicator and team player
• Leadership Skills
Preferred qualifications:
• MBA is a plus
• Multi-lingual speaking is a plus
