The Sr. Investment Tax Specialist assists with tax analysis and prepares tax work papers supporting the taxation of regulated investment companies (RIC) and investment partnerships. This includes tax provisions, support for financial statement preparation/disclosures, required RIC distributions and estimates, and shareholder tax reporting; prepares partnership allocations. This job assists in the analysis of securities and in the preparation of tax returns and their associated schedules and attachments. May perform some reviews to strengthen preparation skills.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

-Prepares and reviews RIC income tax and excise tax provision work papers; Prepares data that supports financial statement preparation and disclosures
-Assists in the analysis of securities held by RICs; Prepares estimates of RIC distributions
-Prepares work papers to support shareholder reporting
-Prepares and reviews partnership tax provision work papers; Prepares data that supports financial statement preparation and disclosures
-Assists in the analysis of securities held by partnerships; Calculates partnership allocations and estimates
-Prepares and reviews tax returns, their supporting work papers and associated schedules
-Prepares and reviews work papers and other documents to support other client deliverables and other BBH deliverables
-Participates in technical and other training to develop skills to enhance the employee and client experience; Develops investment tax and other accounting skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-BS/BA degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
-1 to 2 years Mutual fund and/or investment partnership operational experience either in fund accounting or financial reporting; RIC or investment partnership tax experience preferred
-Basic understanding of accounting and tax concepts, practices, and procedures is required
-Strong client service skills, team attitude and attention to detail
-Ability to understand financial statements and fund accounting reports and spreadsheets
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training, physical or mental abilities required)
• Ability to conceptualize and execute initiatives through to completion.
-Creative problem solving skills, including the ability to identify, recommend, and implement solutions for tax related issues
