Responsibilities
Associates and Vice Presidents in the CFR Group support new business development and investment banking engagements. Associates work on a variety of transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, refinancings and leveraged buyouts. You will:
• Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information;
• Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A transactions;
• Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations;
• Value companies and businesses;
• Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements; and
• Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors.
Qualifications
• Four+ years of investment banking / M&A or related experience together with financial services industry knowledge and strong analytical skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline and/or MBA
• Extensive experience with financial modeling
• Knowledge of DCF and other valuation methodologies
• Basic accounting skills
• Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Ability to conduct thorough, independent research (Bloomberg, SEC filings, Factset, SNL, etc.)
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects / competing priorities in parallel
• Strong organizational skills
• The ability to focus on best practices in terms of process, communication and financial analysis
• Highly detail oriented with the ability to not lose sight of the big picture
• Manage and develop junior bankers within the group
