Overview
The Third Party Relations Director is responsible for managing third party relationships of the Corporation throughout their life cycle ensuring an effective management program. Accountable for the strategy, development, and implementation of tools and processes associated with managing third parties and related risk. Accountable for managing partnerships with other business units, stakeholders, and third party providers to maximize functionality, efficiency and use of the third party management program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for the day-to-day support for third party relationships, including vendor lifecycle from project screening, on-boarding, contract reviews, on-going monitoring, risk assessment, and termination.
• Ensure policies, procedures and program meets all regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain governance over processes that contribute to operational effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with other business units, stakeholders, engaged third parties and regulators.
• Identify control risks and gaps; ensure appropriate action plans are in place to address the risk.
• Ensure that all major problems, trends, risks and exposures related to the services provided are addressed so as to minimize the impact to customers.
• Develop and implement change management infrastructure and processes to support the third party management program; maintain an awareness and understanding of relevant industry trends, best practices and issues and their potential impact, and formulate an appropriate direction where required.
• Verify cost-effectiveness of all actvities and continuously seek productivity and cost reduction initiatives.
• Manage business unit’s budget.
• Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, write, and comprehend complex instructions, procedures, business correspondence, financial and other reports, and memorandums.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.
• Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and group situations to managers, customers, clients, and other employees in the organization, and the general public.
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Strategic visioning.
• Ability to relay technical information in business terms.
• Advanced problem solving skills required to find solutions to problems that are technically complex and require collection, interpretation and analysis of data from diverse sources.
Required and Desired Education and Experience
• BS/BA Degree and or equivalent work related experience, and
• Eight to ten years of work-related, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training.
• Expert understanding of supplier laws and regulations.
• Expert understanding of the business unit’s risk and regulatory requirements.
• Project management skills.
• Expert managerial leadership skills.
• Prioritization skills.
