Managing Director Private Banking - Ascent Capital Management
The Ascent division of U.S. Bank’s Wealth Management Group exclusively services HNW/UHNW clients with investible assets above $50MM. The Managing Director of Private Banking (MDPB) will assist in the design, development and delivery of solutions that meet the client’s complex balance sheet wealth management needs, while providing expert service and highly personalized interaction. The MDPB will actively develop, manage, retain and grow profitable banking relationships with UHNW clients and prospects
It is imperative that the individual has excellent credit and underwriting skills; although others will do the underwriting, he or she must have a comprehensive knowledge of structuring deals and ultimately approve the underwriting content. The MDPB should have experience with a wide range of lending solutions to HNW/UHNW clients including: secured and unsecured loans and lines of credit, lending of $10MM+ (investments, purchase of planes, boats, art, etc).
He or she will work in collaboration with other team members to ensure the comprehensive delivery of the group’s capabilities. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of relevant experience as a private banker. The MDPB will provide clients a strategic and comprehensive approach to wealth management with a state-of-the-industry UHNW advisory platform that includes banking, multigenerational planning, family dynamics, open architecture investment management, trust and estate services, technology, etc.
This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. Failure to meet or maintain any of the NMLS registration requirements, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record, may result in a rescission of your offer or termination of employment.
Qualifications
• BA degree, 7+ years of prior experience in private banking and/or private client
services.
• UHNW Credit/Underwriting experience required
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills
• Broad knowledge of all facets of Wealth Management
• Understanding of financial acumen as it pertains to the high-net-worth market
• Solid business development skills
