We are seeking to hire a Senior Procurement Manager/Director to join our team based in Andover, MA.
The Senior Procurement Manager/Director impacts the organization by ensuring that our company’s short and long-term strategic plans and negotiation power for goods and services are competitive and enable the company to secure a consistent quality supply delivered in a timely manner for the best price.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for wired and wireless hardware products that meet marketing projective objectives. This includes major commodities, contract manufacturers, and ODM’s.
• Provides thought leadership for procurement practices that support flexibility like a startup, but provides the scalability required for the next phase of growth.
• Able to recruit and build a procurement team that has multiple locations (US/Europe/Asia).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop commercial and legal T&C’s that meet company objectives. Identify potential contract risks, and develop a plan to reduce those risks.
• Negotiate or renegotiate multiple contracts for production and non-production related goods and services to secure a consistent quality supply at the best price. End firm-wide relationships with vendors when necessary.
• Prepares scope documents, communication plans, and contract awards. Actively partners with legal teams and stakeholders to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and quality.
• Continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and proactively tracks progress towards these objectives. Prepares and presents business cases, return on investment models, and change management programs to stakeholders and senior management. Implements and measures cost savings, reduction, and avoidance programs and strategies. Continually refines these programs to deliver optimal results for the company.
• Lead and perform supplier audits to insure timely communication of quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
• Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, service and engineering departments, maintaining inventory at planned levels.
• May be required to perform additional duties including but not limited to the development, implementation, and management of corporate policies and compliance programs, diversity programs, asset recovery and sales, specific/targeted commodity program management, resolution of payment/shipping/reconciliation errors, Kaizan, Kanban, Six Sigma models, ERP system functions, and metrics reporting in order to expand the role.
Merger and acquisition experience a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S./B.A. degree in business management, business administration or accounting; MS degree a plus.
• 10-15 years of related experience negotiating multiple business deals with demonstrated responsibility of over $100 million in spend.
• Large organization experience applied within a startup or mid stage company.
• Able to consider the legal side to business deals negotiated.
• Strong negotiation skills with vendors, contractors, and customers.
• Certified Purchasing Professional highly desirable.
• Excellent communicators, both orally and in writing.
• Possesses exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proficient user of MS Office; Word, Excel, Powerpoint, & Outlook.
