The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.
As a member of Treasury Capital Markets (TCM) Controllers Team, this individual will managing / leading a staff of three within the reporting team which oversees the daily PL consolidation and allocation process. This candidate will have regular and direct interactions with Corporate Treasury, other business unit controllers, Financial Control Group, IT, and other groups within the Firm.
Responsibilities
• Consolidate, review and report the daily global Treasury P&L.
• Review executive summaries with explanation of P&L and T1/T0 variances.
• Input of T+0 estimates into PCT for ISG divisions and distribution of T0 summary.
• Analyze profit and loss attribution and ensure key drivers are in line with expectations.
• Oversee daily and month end business usual tasks supported from deployment location (Baltimore).
• Oversee quarterly due diligence reporting for Treasury debt and liquidity activities.
• Ownership and improvement of existing financial reporting and metrics for the group.
• Initiate process reengineering, improve efficiency, and work to improve IT systems.
• Ad hoc projects will be assigned.
Qualifications
• Previous management experience preferred.
• Capital Markets product controls experience preferred.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in relevant fields.
• Demonstrable leadership qualities with a strong work ethic and team player mentality.
• A strong controls background with the ability to design new controls and to challenge the operating effectiveness of existing controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (strong Excel, Power point, and database skills a plus)
• Adept at working in a fast-paced, high-energy level environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong analytical skills.
