The Director of the Data Analytics and Software Robotics is responsible for providing sales support to BDO teams; engaging in business development activities; developing work plans for clients; consulting with clients to establish expectations and project plans; presenting BDO’s capabilities to clients and scoping projects accordingly while providing direction to team members in the areas of data analytics and software automation.
• Participates in business development activities, including identifying opportunities for expansion of existing engagements and identifying stand-alone and new business opportunities, specifically in data analytics and software automation consulting opportunities
• Supports business development team members and business development efforts by providing expert support throughout the sales cycle, including preparation of materials in response to RFI’s and RFP’s, presentations statements of works, and proposals
• Manages staff and provides deliverables to clients
• Manages client expectations regarding budget, scope and timing
• Manages and consults with clients during data intensive investigations and/or litigation
• Acts as a contact for client questions and inquiries
• Communicates team requirements and executes against project plans to deliver client work product on-time and on-budget
• Mentors team members and utilizes existing team to deliver on certain aspects of projects
• Works with business development team to identify and pursue new opportunities
• Develops, sells and executes service offerings in areas including: data analytics, cybersecurity, incident response, information governance, data privacy, digital business strategy, and/or data aggregation and analysis planning and support
• Interacts with high level client personnel and attorneys, as well as Federal and local government agencies
• Drafts and edits corporate client policies related to data, information, records management, and acceptable use of information, as well as preparation of incident response plans, information management plans
• Drafts, manages and validates the quality of client reports
• Manages client expectations at all levels of the organization, including ability to present to and communicate with board level executives
• Identifies and researches new trends, new tools related to data mapping, categorization and classification, records and information management, knowledge management, governance risk management and compliance, legal technology, web content management, and other related software
• Plans and manages engagements to ensure engagement metrics are achieved
• Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Ability to manage teams
• Ability to manage large and long term engagements
• Ability to drive master services agreement clients from initial projects to multiple projects in a year
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree is required. Strong consideration for Computer Science, Accounting, Business or Finance majors
• MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
Experience:
• 8 (eight) or more years of a combination of data analytics project experience required
• 5 (five) or more years of prior financial and/or economic analysis, business valuation, public accounting, consulting, eDiscovery, digital forensics or law enforcement experience preferred
• Proven experience with large investigations and litigations, including but not limited to FCPA, second requests, whistleblower/qui-tam, fraud investigations preferred
License/Certifications:
• Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Tableau, OCA, CPA, CFE, EnCE, ACE, ACEDS, PMP and/or other relevant certification preferred
Software:
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite required; Microsoft Project preferred
• Prior experience with forensic and database software preferred
• Prior experience with e-Discovery tools including Relativity, Attenex, Concordance, Ringtail, Stratify, and/or Summation preferred
Language:
• Spanish and/or Asian language fluency (read, speak and/or write) a plus
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Active network of potential technology clients with proven track record of converting client references into sales of data analytics consulting services required
• Executive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements
• Proven business development skills, including selling additional services to existing clients, preparing proposals and maintaining and expanding a personal network of referral sources is required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and advanced research skills related to industry trends, market competition and technology
• Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
• Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
• Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel
• Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel
• Executive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements
