Description

Within CTC | myCFO, the core services to families include Family Office (tax strategy and compliance, estate advisory, risk management, expense management and philanthropic planning and advisory), Investment Advisory (investment advisory strategy, research, administration, and performance reporting), Capital Advisory (liquidity planning, capital structure advisory, lending and cash management), and fiduciary (estate settlement, trusteeship and trust).
ROLE MANDATE
The Director, Research Analytics leads and manages all aspects of the investment process. Key efforts include optimizing the investment manager buy list, maximizing after-tax performance, encouraging proprietary research, negotiating access and fee reductions with managers and overseeing the monitoring of strategy performance through the analysis of portfolio holdings, returns, and other qualitative and quantitative investment manager data. Additionally, the Director, Research has client contact and works with specific clients.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Analytics
• Oversee analytical activities of the research group across all asset classes (traditional, hedge funds and private markets)
• Use sophisticated tools, systems and databases to measure risk factors, market exposures and provide other insights into client portfolios
• Lead efforts on portfolio modeling for multiple client segments
• Work directly with clients and advisors to develop, structure, maintain and report on client investments
• Create analytical reports to compare and contrast investment strategies and to better understand client portfolios
• Participate in the production of research pieces including white papers, panel discussions, market research calls, etc.
• Actively participate in investment related working groups and committee meetings; present managers, market developments and investment theses
• Participate in business development efforts including the marketing of capabilities to current and prospective clients
• Participate in appropriate industry organizations such as FOX and IPI thru attendance and speaking engagements
• Assist with quarterly manager and asset class commentary and analysis
• Ensure appropriate documentation of research activities
• Actively participate in investment related working groups and committee meetings; present managers, market developments and investment theses
• Participate in business development efforts including the marketing of capabilities to current and prospective clients
• Participate in appropriate industry organizations such as FOX and IPI thru attendance and speaking engagements
• Assist with quarterly manager and asset class commentary and analysis
• Ensure appropriate documentation of research activities

POTENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership
• Serve as the representative of the Research team in our FinTech efforts
• Participate in the production of research pieces including white papers, panel discussions, market research calls, etc.
• Actively participate in investment related working groups and committee meetings; present managers, market developments and investment theses
• Participate in business development efforts including the marketing of capabilities to current and prospective clients
• Participate in appropriate industry organizations such as FOX and IPI thru attendance and speaking engagements

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
• Ten years or more of investment industry experience
• Advanced degree and/or CFA preferred
• Excellent writing and quantitative skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with clients, managers and colleagues
• In-depth knowledge of financial/investment concepts
• Superior analytical abilities and attention to detail
• Must work well in a team environment and adhere to high ethical standards
• Knowledge of investment tools and databases; proficiency in computer languages a plus
