Job Summary:
Reporting to the Private Banking National Sales Manager, the Private Banking Director is responsible for driving revenue and profitable growth from Private Banking segment within a major geographic area. The PB Director directly manages all Private Bankers for the market, controls P&L and is responsible for achieving profitability through growth of loans, deposits, investment management, insurance, trust services and wealth planning products and services.
The position will deliver significant financial results through vigorous portfolio management and collaboration with business partners to provide a full array of wealth and business solutions, and also ensure operational integrity and prudent risk management. Develop diverse, highly skilled teams to deliver a full range of wealth markets capabilities to affluent and high net worth individuals, businesses and business owners. Maintain and deepen relationships with internal and external partners and develop a strong reputation in the business community through visibility and outreach to key businesses, community leaders and wealth segments. Actively represent the Bank in the community and professional organizations, and participate in prospect and client calls. Management or Supervision: Will manage approximately 15 to 25 Private Bankers.
Major Responsibilities:
70% - Sales and Relationship Management: Drive new client acquisition, profitable expansion of the Private Banker portfolio and retention of high value relationships by focusing on quality of client experience, consistency of service and delivery of robust relationship management through needs based, consultative selling. Deliver effective coaching to enable Private Banker to successfully evaluate client's financial health and provide full array of solutions including loans, investment management, insurance, trust services and wealth planning products and services. Responsible for robust pipeline management to achieve desired production and revenue targets. Develop business strategies to support sales objectives. Design and implement business plans to effectively leverage partners within the bank to generate greater cross sell and revenue enhancement opportunities. Implement and foster a dynamic sales culture within the organization and effectively lead and coach the Bank sales process.
30% - Performance Management: Responsible for all aspects of Private Banker performance. Manage recruitment, training and motivation of highly skilled Private Banker sales teams. Assess staffing issues and performance gaps. Provide effective and immediate intervention. Manage to set Private Banker goals. Held accountable for banker competency, goal achievement, shared goal achievement with business partners, profitability, cost control, compliance, operational and risk management activities. This position may be subject to SAFE Act Registration Requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all applicants for employment who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements. If at any time the Bank determines that your position requires SAFE Act registration, you will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in your immediate termination

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Preferred skills include sales and relationship management experience, proven track record in effective sales management and development of employees. Effective leader who works collaboratively with executive management and line leadership across the bank divisions and disciplines to meet overall bank objectives. Possess deep knowledge and clear vision of high net worth market place and products. Strategic orientation and ability to articulate Private Bank mission, value statement and goals. Sound operational and risk management knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent financial acumen and strong analytical abilities. Education, Licensure, Experience: Position requires 10+ years in management and leadership experience with deep knowledge of affluent and high net worth markets. Business and mortgage lending, as well as commercial loan underwriting experience. Individuals must be fully licensed with Series 7, 66, 24, and all appropriate state insurance licenses within 180 days from date of hire. CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CFA (Certified Financial Analyst), CTFA (Certified Trust and Financial Advisor) or other related professional designation strongly preferred.
