Description
The position will serve as the Director of the Bank's Government Guaranteed Lending program to include Small Business Administration, but will also include the USDA & Ex-Im Bank programs.
The Director will manage a team of people and will serve as the Bank's liaison with the governmental agencies providing the loan guarantees. In addition, the Director will meet with third parties providing servicing and administration of the portfolio.
This role has responsibility for Government Guaranteed Credit Underwriters and Processors to manage the portfolio including: underwriting, structuring, financial analysis and servicing within Bank policy and government regulations and procedures.
This role manages business development efforts and the roll out of new strategies relative to government guaranteed lending programs.
They will have a strong partnership with Compliance and Community Reinvestment Act team to track and manage to goals for low-to-moderate-income or other assistance programs. Works with retail, business banking, commercial, private client, diversity and community banking associates to use government guarantee programs serve the client base.
Collaborates with internal partners to ensure guarantee eligibility conditions are met. Tracks and monitors profitability of the programs to include financial decisions, unit volume, staffing levels, internal and external reporting, processing of payments and 1502 reporting.
Requirements
Experience Required:
• 8 - 10 years of direct commercial lending or credit underwriting experience.
• 8 - 10 years of management experience.
Knowledge Required:
• Specific knowledge of SBA operating procedures, underwriting, processing, servicing,
administration and SBA lending review
• Knowledge of SBA regulations and standards
• Experience with sale of loans in the secondary market
• Strong analytical, credit, interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient use of PC for data retrieval, word processing and database applications.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure, prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines.
• Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality and integrity.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of other government guarantee program regulations and standards.
