BlumShapiro, the largest New England-based accounting, tax and business consulting firm, is seeking an E&T Tax Director/Manager for its Shelton, CT office. Candidate must be experienced in dealing with high net worth clients. Responsibilities will include some, if not all, of the following:
• Preparing and reviewing fiduciary income tax returns, gift tax returns, and various other tax returns
• Conducting complex tax research projects for high net worth clients
• Providing tax compliance and tax planning services for high net worth clients
• Managing and supervising multiple engagements
• Managing a book of business and/or participating in marketing-related activities
• Ensuring complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations and meeting deadlines
• Managing, developing, training, and mentoring staff, including performance and engagement reviews
• Attending professional development and continuing education sessions on a regular basis

Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or experience with estate and trust administration
• CPA certification is a must
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Private Client Service group experience is preferred
• Knowledge of estate and trust administration, including probate filings and probate accountings
• Experience providing services to private foundations, estates and small partnerships is preferred
• Strong technical tax skills and research capabilities
• Ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically
• A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize and prioritize under tight deadlines
• Outstanding leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills fostering client and staff relationships
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
