Job Description
The Deputy Enterprise Risk Management Director is responsible for overseeing, leading or directing a number of Corporate Risk Management programs and activities. Directs the annual update and maturation of the Risk Governance and Risk Appetite framework. Directs the creation of policies, business unit guidance, on-going independent risk assessment and emerging risk identification for select risk pillar(s). Coordinates efforts to align strategic planning with business segments and corporate strategy to assess forward risk horizon, opine on strategic alignment with Corporate and Segment Risk Appetites and independently evaluates where changes to risk profile trigger strategic plan or risk governance framework updates. Participates in capital planning, stress testing and resolution planning processes and committees as appropriate. Chairs, participates or engages with corporate risk and segment risk committees to ensure visibility and engage throughout the organization.
As an integral part of the overall risk management team, The Deputy Enterprise Risk Management Director will oversee or lead a number of critical Corporate Risk Management programs and activities -- which may include:
Risk Governance and Risk Appetite Framework - In coordination with key risk colleagues and business line participants, direct activities around the annual updates and the maturation of the process and metrics.
Risk Pillar - Policy creation, business unit guidance, on-going independent risk assessment and emerging risk identification.
Strategic Planning - Coordinate with Director to align business segments and corporate strategy in assessing forward risk horizon, opine on strategic alignment with Corporate and Segment Risk Appetites and independently evaluate where changes to risk profile trigger strategic plan or risk governance framework updates.
Capital Planning - Participate in capital planning and stress testing processes and committees as appropriate.
Resolution Planning - Participate in enterprise-wide resolution planning efforts including providing risk management guidance and counsel.
Committee Engagement - Participate on certain corporate risk and segment risk committees to ensure visibility and engage throughout the organization.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 15+ years of multidiscipline risk management experience within a financial organization
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree
• Professional Designations - CFA or Certified Risk Professionals
• Experience partnering with regulators
• History leading enterprise - wide risk programs
