Description
The Director, Capital Markets (Energy/Industrials) will work cross-functionally throughout the internal organization, while building C-level relationships with issuers, banks, venture capital firms, private equity companies, and industry associations. The successful candidate will help raise the profile of the NYSE globally, articulating our unique value proposition to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, resulting in increased market share among high quality companies seeking to tap the public markets.
The Director, Capital Markets (Energy/Industrials) manages the strategy, business development, and a pipeline of opportunities for Initial Public Offering (IPO) prospects. In this critical role, the ideal candidate will work cross-functionally throughout the internal organization, while building C-level relationships with issuers, banks, venture capital firms, private equity companies, and industry associations. The successful candidate will help raise the profile of the NYSE globally, articulating our unique value proposition to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, resulting in increased market share among high quality companies seeking to tap the public markets. This role will report to the Global Head of Listings.
Responsibilities
• Work with the leadership team to analyze the opportunity within a segment of the issuer landscape and devise strategies for generating awareness and a pipeline for the NYSE for that slice of the industry.
• Meticulous management and communication of a pipeline of IPO opportunities at all stages. Development and tracking of appropriate metrics to be used to develop and communicate objectives and progress.
• Engage with C-level executives at issuing companies, communicating the NYSE value proposition and anticipating issues. Through relationship building and discussion, work with issuers and internal teams to create an optimized proposal for launch day and early months as a public company. Facilitate a smooth onboarding and transition to NYSE’s relationship management staff.
• Host senior issuers and other leaders for franchise building events, at the NYSE as well as strategic locales globally.
Candidate Offers
• 10+ years’ experience in finance (investment banking, venture capital), consulting, or high-level sales
• Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree and/or industry certification preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proactive, proven leader and team player
• Knowledge and experience with MS Office and with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
