The Commercial Banking Manager manages a team of Relationship Managers. Emphasis is on developing new corporate relationships. Responsible for maintenance and development of the existing portfolio of middle market and business banking customers. Manages all aspects of a region's budget and tactical plan to meet financial targets. Reports directly to the Division Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
Financial:
Responsible for the achievement of the region's budget. Focus is on meeting NOI, RAROC and efficiency goals.
Business Development:
Focus is on the achievement of new business goals as part of NOI requirements. Actively participates in the development of new prospect relationships and the conversion of those prospects to new bank clients. Maintains and cultivates strategic referral sources. Maintains ultimate responsibility for the cross-sale of bank products within their assigned territory.
Staff Management:
Establishes and monitors performance objectives. Appraises performance and recommends salary increases. Ensures employee training and development. Acts as mentor. Hires and terminates employees as necessary. Coaches and counsels staff with a focus on improving the business development/sales skills of relationship managers.
Qualifications
• Proficient credit underwriting and structuring skills.
• Requires proven managerial ability with 10+ years of Commercial Banking experience. Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal capability.
• Demonstrated success at new business development and sales coaching.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of existing credit standards.
• Ability to handle several complex tasks simultaneously.
