Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks a Vice President, Investment Banking in New York, New York
Provide financial advice and solutions on strategic issues in order to advise domestic and multi-national corporate clients and emerging growth companies in achieving short- and long-term objectives. Work as a member of the Consumer Retail Group (CRG), which is an integrated, global group that covers all product areas (M&A, Equity, Debt and Risk Management Products) and is involved in both business development and the execution of investment banking transactions. Advise clients on financial and investment strategies, including analyzing and evaluating economic and financial data. Advise on financial matters, including public offerings, private placements, capital structure, financial planning, and rating agency presentations. Provide guidance, checks and balances, and analytical oversight for quantitative analysis, including company valuation based on various methodologies, capital structure analysis, merger impact analysis, leveraged buyout models, and credit/financing models. Initiate new domestic and international banking relationships. Perform project and process coordination, including liaising with potential buyers, clients, client lawyers, and other advisors. Work with team members from across Morgan Stanley, including Capital Market Service, Merchant Banking, Strategic Development, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, and Real Estate. Perform conceptual drafting and oversight of client presentation preparation, and participate in client meetings to present analysis. Manage, liaise, and effectively communicate with both junior bankers (analysts) and senior bankers. Act as the manager of the junior bankers’ time and decide how those resources are efficiently and fairly deployed across the group on all projects underway. Efficiently allocate analyst time to business development and execution mandates.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field of study and six (6) years of experience as an Investment Banking Associate, Director, or related occupation in Investment Banking. Requires six (6) years of experience with: analyzing, advising, developing, and executing strategic investment banking transactions internationally; complex domestic and international transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, spin-offs, exchange offers, leveraged buyouts, and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts; working with multi-national corporate clients for a global consumer retail company; development of dynamic financial models and the day-to-day deal processes; Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and market-based software solutions including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, MergerMarket, Factiva, and ThomsonOne.
