The Operations division is both the first line of defence for protecting Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being, and an essential partner contributing to the firm's growth. Facing off to all Morgan Stanley businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors.
Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. One of the largest divisions in the firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, we continually strive to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
Team Profile:
The primary function of the team is to provide Management Reporting to Operations Senior Leadership, manage Budget, Forecasting and Financial Projections for Global Operations and partner with Financial Control Group to oversee expense management.
Primary Responsibilities:
The open position is a Director role within Global Operation’s Reporting, Analysis and Metrics team focused on Commercial Reporting and Analysis. The primary function of the team is to provide Management Reporting to Operations Senior Leadership, manage Budget, Forecasting and Financial Projections for Global Operations and partner with Financial Control Group to oversee expense management. This is a high profile position and a key management role in supporting the day to day activities of the division. Individual needs to be results oriented with exceptional analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables. Role requires working in partnership with various Operations segments and divisions across the firm.
The role’s day to day activities will be in support of the following:
• Allocations Reengineering Initiative
• Global Operations Non Compensation Expense Management
• Vendor Management Financial Oversight
• Multi-year strategic planning (e.g. Financial projections, Target Setting)
• CTB Financial Management
• Tech and Data Expense Management
• External Benchmarking Analyses
• Operations Capacity Management and Reporting
The successful candidate will interact with senior management of the Division and the Firm on a regular basis, as well as the Financial Control Group.
