Team Profile:
Morgan Stanley’s real-time market data team design and develop systems that provide real-time market data and calculation for various trading engine and risk systems. The team is responsible for the full software life cycle of these systems. We work closely with our business partners in sales and trading, risk management, compliance, operations and other technology teams at Morgan Stanley.
The Market Data Real-time development team develops and maintains applications to disseminate and enhance the value of the market data that comes into the firm. The focus is on developing highly available systems that can process large quantities of data with very low latency. These systems carry all real-time data such as stock prices, index values, option prices, foreign exchange and fixed income instruments. This position will be hands on C++ development role.
The candidate will participate and contribute to the design and development of real-time market data core infrastructure and feed processing software.
Role Profile:
• Contribute to the design, development and implementation of the global teams strategic plans to meet the firms market data requirement.
• Work with the application teams to understand requirements and define potential solutions
• Communicate with the Business Units regarding requirements, deliver status and operational issues
• Communicate with the Quality assurance and Production management teams and provide level 3 support
• Be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle from requirements to deployment and level 3 support.
• Performing in-depth data analysis on the Market Data content itself.
• Design/develop products to add value to the services the team provides
• Develop new market data feeds and calculations.
• Enhance existing systems to meet new requirements.
• Design/develop products to add value to the services the team provides.
• Perform regression testing, configuration changes and in some cases release
Qualifications
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Advanced knowledge of C++, including templates.
• Cross-platform programming.
• Multithreading, low-level primitives, atomic variables, mutex, condition variable, understanding of pthreads even if using C++ libraries like Boost.
• STL (Standard Template Library).
• Boost libraries including algorithms, asio, date_time, and threads
• Knowledge and experience on formal software development practices.
• Understand of perf and LBM
• Unix low-level.
