Overview
The SVP, Debit Product Development is responsible for creating a portfolio of short, medium, and longer term product and business development opportunities with a focus on delivering innovation to debit. The successful candidate will need to transform our approach in debit from a card-based solution to a set of capabilities that address a retail bank’s needs. This will require a transformation of our internal thinking and external positioning in addition to a deep understanding of diverse market structures and complex competitive regulatory landscapes in order to drive solutions that scale. Reporting to the EVP, Global Debit Products, the role will need to consider development opportunities within our traditional business and will need to size, prioritize, and develop strategies and propositions to address emerging opportunities for debit.

Manages design, development and implementation of respective products and programs across MasterCard; identifies opportunities to test both proven and new methods, anticipates barriers to adoption and develops roadmap/bridge to desired end state.
• Transforms overall product construct to develop a retail bank driven debit strategy, understanding the current and future needs, pain points, and impacts of regulation. Outline capability gaps and develop or curate capabilities (new or via partnerships) that can be delivered at an account level in support of an overall retail bank strategy and segmentation.
• Develop an internal and external narrative to drive the repositioning for debit. Engage key internal stakeholders across the organization (digital payments, account teams, Division Presidents) and align on vision and strategy for new development opportunities.
• Given the rapidly changing landscape, assess the overall value chain for debit and future-state “positions of power”. Build out capabilities or partnership to enable extension, working in close partnership with the global and regional processing teams.
• Develop propositions outside the traditional product line strategy to address emerging participants in the banking ecosystem and new issuing models.
• Partner with other product teams such as Prepaid, Credit, acceptance, labs, and ACH to realize synergies across product capabilities, use cases, and product development functions.

• Build compelling business cases and drive regional buy-in to ensure execution
• Manage the overall product development budget and multi-year investment cases. Adjust strategies as financial or business conditions change
• Assess the overall opportunities, develop a strategy to address, and then build a high-performing team accordingly
