Responsibilities
Vice Presidents in the Industrials Group support new business development and investment banking engagements. They work on a variety of transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, refinancings and leveraged buyouts. You will:
• Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information;
• Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A transactions;
• Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations;
• Value companies and businesses;
• Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements; and
• Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have prior experience or a demonstrated interest in Industrials, a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. He or she should also have the ability to conduct business autonomously. The environment at Houlihan Lokey is both collegial and entrepreneurial. Teamwork is essential to the firm’s success. At the same time, creativity and new ideas are encouraged. Vice Presidents are given substantial responsibility and are encouraged to help us grow our business. The ideal candidate should be motivated, creative, outgoing and possess strong skills in financial analysis. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory, keen analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills. At least four years of postgraduate investment banking experience is required; no class of 2017 graduates, please.
Coursework in accounting and finance is highly recommended.
