JOB DESCRIPTION:
Manage the relationship of multi-million dollar hedge fund portfolios across multiple products and strategies including Equities, Equity swaps, Derivatives, and FX post sales mandate throughout the client lifespan. Serve as the point of contact for hedge fund clients to all aspects of their business leading to the added ability to cross sell the investment bank globally. Formulate client action plans to ensure clients are maintaining sufficient return on asset levels and to look for increased opportunities to enhance existing client relationships across functions to increase overall profitability. Coordinate all client touch points across the bank to ensure the client coverage team is up to date with ongoing client business developments. Consistently track client balance and portfolio fluctuations to preempt significant fund financing changes as well as periodic review of client pricing to ensure in line with market standards and business needs. Perform daily exception monitoring of client’s positions and trading activity to ensure accuracy of the portfolio and reduce market and non-market risk to the client’s fund and prime brokerage. Review on a daily basis client portfolios from the perspective of margin, stock loan, financing, market-access, and trading to ensure all aspects of client needs are being met. Improve client efficiencies through optimizing and automating client connectivity. Participate in regular in-depth reviews with senior management and client heads to identify service offering gaps and opportunities where the client relationship can be improved from all aspects which include sales and trading resources, consulting services, or prime brokerage product offerings. Analyze data on execution commission and identifies client trends while targeting areas of improvement.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study and 7 years of experience in the position offered or as a Client Service Representative, Associate, Vice President, or related occupation. Position requires 7 years of experience with the following: experience with hedge funds and managing the relationship and connectivity between the client and the Firm in its entirety; experience with the underlying strategies that funds employ (Equity Long Short, Multi-strategy, multi-manager, quantitative and credit) and the impact those strategies have on a Firm’s balance sheet, financing costs, and risk management settings; experience with hedge fund structure, specifically ‘40 Act, UCITS, and Onshore/Offshore vehicles; experience with Risk Management, with specific reference to asset based lending, and experience advising clients on risk requirement changes based on their individual portfolios; experience with the link between directional exposure, concentration, and liquidity as it pertains to risk; experience with the existing regulatory landscape and upcoming changes as they pertain to the industry, including Basel III regulations, CFTC, SEC, and FED implemented regulations; experience with FED regulated margin policy and how it is applied to clients’ portfolios; experience with consulting practices, including vendor selection, staffing, IT resources, operating management systems, OTC derivative pre-matching tools, and PB platforms; experience with HF capital, sources, and flow; experience with running client due diligence meetings and investor due diligence questionnaires; experience with equity swaps, including how they are traded, booked and reconciled, and experience with cash flows and collateral with regards to tri-party and bilateral structures; experience with the documentation requirements and the process to take a fund live including fund docs, PBA, ISDA, ETA, and Listed Option Agreement; experience with Listed Derivative products, the exchanges they are traded, the clearing process, and how they are incorporated to risk models; experience with leading client meetings and conference calls; experience liaising 1:1 with CIOs, COOs, and CFOs of businesses; experience with sale and repurchase agreements, the documentation required (MRA), and how the assets are funded; experience liaising with 3rd party providers and competitors; and experience organizing events and roundtables in the hedge fund industry, focused on connecting hedge fund officers with their peers. Requires completion of Series 7,63, 9 and 10.
