Morgan Stanley (MS) is a global financial services firm that conducts its business through three principal business segments Institutional Securities, Wealth Management (WM), and Asset Management. The WM network includes more than 15,000 Financial Advisors (FAs) with total client assets of over $2 trillion. WM provides comprehensive financial advice and services to its clients including brokerage, investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit & lending, deposits & cash management, annuities, insurance, retirement and trust services. MS is expanding its deposit and lending services to serve the retail banking, private banking and commercial banking needs of WM clients. Private Banking Operations (PBO) is an organization that supports this effort. PBO is seeking a high quality Director to be a part of our business management team that supports the PBO Organization.
Position Description
Morgan Stanley PBO Business Management offers a unique opportunity to work with WM Operations management and the Global Ops COO department. The position reports to the COO for PBO Business Management offering a broad interaction with the operational support teams, risk and control functions and the business units that comprise the Bank. The COO team is responsible for working with the businesses leads to articulate business strategy, prepare strategic plans, support resource management, forecast vendor expenses and volumes and manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
The candidate will work closely with the Private Banks Business Manager and participate in the full scope of the groups responsibilities. This candidate will be responsible for:
1 Resource management inclusive of monthly forecasting and P&L explain
2 Working with the business to obtain business growth projections to help forecast headcount and vendor expenses
3 Support reoccurring and ad hoc reporting
4 Assist in the development of unit cost
5 Provide back up and support of technology investment programs
Qualifications
Skills Required
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Organized and strong project management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with business management and support teams across multiple locations
• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Detail orientated
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must.
