JOB:
Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President in New York, New York:
Build a strategic platform to consume the source data across multiple sources (Transactions, Positions & Margin) and deliver to various consumers at near Real-time. Provide the traceability of an event in real-time and provide capabilities for consumers to query the platform for further information. Develop prototypes and evaluations to further the desired technology that will be used for developing the application. Provide real-time solutions on the selected existing issues across multiple platforms. Discuss with the business to understand the requirements and develop a technical design of the requirements. Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to store the data. Provide timely analysis of the current requirements to the business. Design an ETL application to load the data from multiple sources in the datamart. Implement customizable framework in the application adhering to Morgan Stanley authentication. Work on the in house Real Time Margin (RTM) calculator to identify the policy for margin. Modify the RTM policy to change the requirements to accommodate core margin requirements. Build a strategic platform and efficiently support a wide variety of trade and non-trade transactions. Work on an application/platform that guarantees the highest levels of performance and support for scale-up and scale-out of mission critical applications with advanced features and services for customers. Design prototypes and evaluations based on in-house caching. Carry out performance and stress tests on the various caching products.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or as an Associate, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will accept any amount of experience with the following: experience with software design and architecture using Object Oriented design principles; experience with full stack development integrating Java 7 or higher, Spring, Hibernate, Apache CXF, JAX-RS with JavaScript, and data caching patterns on the Apache Tomcat Server; experience with memory management, garbage collection, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming; experience with SQL programming, performance tuning, database design, and store procedures; experience with batch processing of large data sets with hands-on ETL development; experience with design, development, and implementation using programming frameworks for transaction management, data access, and MVC that can interact real-time with multi-tiered applications; experience with processing trade flow for Fixed Income, Equities, and Options products; and experience with project lifecycles, performing detailed business analysis, and producing associated functional specifications.
