SS&C Technologies is seeking a Director of Program Management to work as part of a global product development team focused on driving innovation and delivering cloud-based, SaaS solutions for the Investment Management industry.This position will require strong program management experience and a proven track record of delivering solutions in the fast-paced and complex business area of financial technology.
The Director will lead the coordination for all product development activities over multiple products and services that form a comprehensive end-to-end Investment Management workflow.The Director will ensure that senior management is informed on release status and risks, that releases are completed on time, and that we are developing secure, high-quality software that meets the needs of the marketplace.
Main responsibilities of the job
• Responsible for overall release management, with resource planning and scheduling across a global product development team
• Clear communication to senior management and stakeholders that captures any changes to schedule, risks, and mitigation plans
• Provide oversight and governance of the entire SDLC, from vision to release readiness and delivery to market
• Accountable for enforcing adherence to the SDLC through governance checkpoints to ensureconsistency in the process
• Coordinate and align development priorities across all teams
• Identify project risk and manage mitigation plans to remove obstacles to delivery
• Enable collaboration across the global team and ensure clear communication across teams
• Serve as the escalation point for risks to project schedules, drive the assessment of mitigation options for addressing the issues, and define clear mitigation strategies to resolve the issues
• Ensure delivery of high-quality releases, on time, with planned functionality
• Manage internal communication to ensure all global staff are informed ofrelease content and status
• Coordinate early adopter programs and beta programs for new releases with customers, prospects, and internal staff
• Ensure continuous improvement of product development quality and efficiency through clear metrics
• Define and implement a change control process that provides clear tracking of changes and communication to stakeholders
• Demonstrate self-directed and proactive approach to tackling problems and leveraging resources
Required Qualifications
• A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in project and program management
• Experience in implementing a successful agile development process across a global product development team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently, establishing strategic objectives, project plans and milestone goals
• Experience with projects that deliver or implement trading systems and accounting systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiar with Agile-Scrum methodology and practices
• Recent experience within the Financial Industry trading systems and accounting systems
• PMI’s Project Management Professional certification
Educational Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree (prefer a finance major or focus on finance)
