The Director of Business Development is focused on maintaining, growing and developing new partnerships with external financial institutions. This individual will improve revenue growth for U.S. Bank Wealth Management by helping create and improve partnerships with other institutions and increase engagement of their advisors/clients. Drive business growth by enabling external partners to leverage Wealth Management’s streamlined process in order to deliver our services to their clients and/or employees
Responsibilities include:
Partnership with Fidelity: Effectively connect and manage relationships with RIA’s on the Fidelity platform and build deeper relationships with U.S. Bank’s National Private Banking Program. Help align resources, establish a prospecting methodology and implement a consistent approach to support the Head of National Banking Program and her team.
Partnerships with other Financial Institutions: Engage with major Financial Intuitions at the C-suite level to partner through the National Lending Program. Experience in leading and managing long-term institutional sales cycles is a must
Wholesaling Wealth Management: Drive business growth by wholesale capabilities within Wealth Management. In addition to the National Lending Program, help design and grow wholesaling of Trust services (e.g., Trust administration) and other specialized Wealth Management functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Directs and monitors strategy and initiative activity with the External Partnership segment.
2. Leads initiative execution in the field such as providing guidance and gaining buy-in from relationship managers
3. Participates in meetings and task force activities to identify strategy goals, gain consensus on next steps; fosters cooperation and involvement from all involved.
4. Develops execution plans and provides input to recommendations for request and/or problem resolution.
5. Assists with or prepares project implementation steps and documentation as appropriate; ensures a smooth implementation of project; resolves problems.
6. Manages performance of project team, and evaluates overall performance.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Responsible for managing institutional sale projects for a large and complex business line or for major projects that cross several business lines. Typically works with senior level business line managers. Projects generally take over twelve months to complete. Has an expert level of knowledge of business function and technical skills. Recognized as an expert in multiple project areas.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree, or equivalent work experience
• 10 or more years of experience in institutional sale, project and relationship management and leadership activities

• Expert knowledge of Wealth Management
• Demonstrated management and leadership skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of project management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
