Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
The Investment Management Operations group supports the equity, fixed income, liquidity and alternative businesses for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services, portfolio transitions, market registration, product data and performance and attribution analysis. MSIM Operations also provides mutual fund support, derivative processing, and counterparty and credit event management.
The Director of the Corporate Actions Service Team will build and manage a group of individuals that will be the front line for Asset Servicing escalations. Asset Servicing inquiries and escalations include but are not limited to, voluntary and mandatory corporate actions, redemptions, income distributions, and physical securities. The Director will serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for Morgan Stanley branch personnel that send escalations through various channels that include: telephone, case management, email, We Hear You. The individual will be integral with the progression of Morgan Stanley Service Network within Asset Servicing and will identify areas of opportunity to deliver exceptional client service in a single point of contact. Additionally, the individual will serve as additional coverage to line management as needed within Asset Servicing and preferable to have had previous operations line management experience.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• Series 99 or equivalent
• Proactive proven leader who is detail oriented and understands how to effectively manage multiple deliverables and competing priorities
• Problem solving, personal accountability, ownership, and professionalism
• Ability to consistently achieve performance metrics and call quality expectations
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems and processes, as well as create/improve processes and controls
• Previous experience supervising an operations processing function a plus
