Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
The opportunity in the Equity Swap Trade Support Team (ISG - Trading Operations) supporting the Delta One Structured Products Business Unit and is responsible for managing the creation, life cycle events, termination of equity swap products. In addition, the team plays a central role in facilitating and supporting new business and market initiatives. We are looking for a resourceful and dedicated candidate who embraces change and can participate in process reviews and systems development initiatives. The individual must be extremely control focused and pro-active in strategically resolving issues raised by operations, the BU or other downstream functional areas.
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Supervision of the broader Americas team and BAU processes
-Identification of process improvements, both strategic and tactical
-Project management of process improvement initiatives
-Overseeing the SOD and EOD process for the Swap products on a T0 and T+1 basis
-Management of the Corporate Action process for equity swap products and their related hedges
-Resolution of trade and settlement fails
-Legal and Compliance Issues
-Validating trade input by the desk and escalating issues appropriately
-Involvement in Performing New Product Due Diligence
-Liaising with the Business Unit and New Product groups
-Overseeing the trade review processes within the ESTS remit
-Operational Risk Reconciliation
-Identifying and mitigating control gaps; popularizing issues globally in order to ensure consistency
-Management Reporting
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
-Familiarity with the Life of Trade concept
-Strong communication/relationship building skills and organizational ability
-Ability to translate existing skills in a new environment
-Excellent understanding of the control environment and the ability to escalate issues promptly
-Lateral thinking; recognizing opportunities for system/process improvement
-Ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment
-Good problem solving skills
-Equity Swap product knowledge preferred but not required
-Experience in North American and LatAm Markets preferred but not required
