Employment Type: Regular
Develop and grow profitable long-term relationships with allocated clients within sector. To provide relationship support to senior staff for key clients. Grow revenues across allocated portfolio, successfully manage and serve existing business relationships and originate new revenue streams. Maintain relationships with decision makers within the client organization. Manage junior coverage staff to support and deliver client performance against plan.
Impact on the Business
• Develop ‘Trusted Advisor’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients.
• Work to continue to reposition the firm to higher value added solicitation, enhancing the perception of the Bank amongst its existing and prospective clients.
• Co-ordinate origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products/service.
• Build the Global Banking franchise value/reputation in the market place.
• Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment.
• Establish and maintain networks for co-operation with other HSBC businesses, to support the creation of solutions to customer needs that span geographical/product boundaries and regulatory environments.
• Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required credit quality & requisite returns on risk.
• Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector/country expertise as appropriate.
• Aggressively grow HSBC’s share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements.
• In conjunction with senior management, assist in the management, development and assessment of junior staff.
• Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved including risks associated with financial crime.
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

• Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
• Develop strong relationships with key individuals in the clients’ management team
• Work closely with members of the client service team, ensuring a coordinated approach to enhancing the client relationship.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
• Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice.
• Communicate and adhere to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, policy and procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of relevant management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
• Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the application of Banking policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
Observation of Internal Controls
• The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures.
• The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
• The following statement is only for roles with managerial or specific Compliance responsibilities
• The jobholder will implement measures to contain compliance risk across the business area. This will be achieved by liaising with Compliance department about business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
Qualifications
• 5 to 10+ years experience in negotiating and structuring financial transactions for large and complex publicly listed companies
• 5 - 10 years proven and progressive corporate relationship management experience. Demonstrated track record of results.
• Business related degree such as a B.Com or equivalent required. CFA or MBA qualification is an asset.
• Minimum of 5+ years experience in a financial services industry in a corporate lending environment with solid achievements in portfolio management and developing business.
• Excellent credit skills.
• Strong knowledge of capital markets, corporate finance, capital markets, credit and transaction banking products.
• Experience and exposure to complex credit transactions including Cross border, Syndication, Capital Markets, Equity and Debt.
• Strong knowledge of transaction banking products and services
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, planning, communication, negotiation, presentation, sales, inter-personal and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English (verbal and written)
• Sound knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel as well as credit and risk systems of the Bank.
