The Operations division is both the first line of defence for protecting Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being, and an essential partner contributing to the firm's growth. Facing off to all Morgan Stanley businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors. Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. One of the largest divisions in the firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, we continually strive to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
Team Profile & Primary Responsibilities
The role is within the team providing Operations support to the UK Residential Mortgage business working onsite at a third party Vendor in Skipton. The UK Residential Mortgage team are responsible for the support of the legacy UK Mortgage business including management 3rd party vendor relationships (including Mortgage Administrator / Solicitors / Mortgage Field Agents and Asset Managers to ensure all Service levels are being met
Auditing Residential Mortgage accounts to ensure following agreed strategies for all third party vendors
Ensuring Policy and Procedures are adhered to and that regular updates are carried out to Policies as and when required
Ensuring contract variations follow the Mortgage Market Review (MMR) process
Performing ongoing monitoring of vendor activities related to key functions/areas, Including Administration, Special Servicing and Asset Management (Collections, Loss Mitigation, etc.)
Monitoring mortgage servicing service level agreements related to servicing functions as performed by vendors
Providing reporting based on the results of assessments performed
Working with vendors to address potential servicing issues identified by business assessments
Maintaining, tracking and reporting on issues requiring remediation
Working with internal business partners to address loan level/escalated issues, as needed
Monitoring and reviewing invoices received by the vendor and coordinating with Operations for processing of payments
Overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of required vendor reporting
Participating in ad hoc projects as needed and assisting management with requests related to servicing oversight
Support the Senior Operation Specialist as and when required
Skills Required
Significant experience in the UK Mortgage Markets. We expect that likely candidates may have developed the necessary competencies in a similar role over a 3-5 years’ period.
