Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records, and by contributing to Firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanleys various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanleys various businesses and its senior management team.
• Serve as principal liaison with Traditional and Insured Solutions business management.
• Responsible for management reporting presentations, analysis and support.
• Coordinate weekly/periodic forecast and the annual budget.
• Measure and analyze financial performance against key business metrics and provide qualitative analysis to enable management to measure progress against goals.
• Partner with business management to refine and develop reporting environment for non-financial metrics, key performance indicators and report delivery.
• Monitor financial close and coordinate with Product Controllers.
• Coordinate and facilitate special projects and ad-hoc requests
Qualifications
• B.A./B.S. Accounting /Finance
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of financial reporting systems, procedures, and controls
• Ability to make creative and effective use of systems and technology (including MS Office Suite)
• Knowledge of Tableau and or Alpine applications a plus
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, constantly changing, performance-driven environment
