Main Function of the Job
A Vice President in Corporate Finance serves as the team leader and supervisor of Associates and Analysts on project teams. He or she is typically recognized by the client as the main day-to-day contact person on transactions and is also often responsible for delivering regular market or product information to clients. The Vice President may act as an understudy for a Director or Managing Director on certain assignments or accounts, depending on the size and complexity of the transaction. Vice Presidents must learn to balance the execution of assignments with new business development, review broad US and Global Banking and key industry drivers and market trends in order to prepare industry and company analysis. Industry specialists are expected to have a thorough knowledge of current trends and companies in their area, enabling them to identify and capitalize on opportunities. They should maintain an awareness of the latest corporate, strategic and financial developments in the specific industry they cover. They take on increasing responsibility for both existing and potential clients and begin to strategically cultivate relationships. They may work on projects related to various verticals and may work on transactions where the firm is providing strategic advice related to M&A, restructuring, and recapitalization, as well as raising capital in the private and public equity and debt capital markets.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Play a key role in the execution on a deal or proposal; must have a mastery of all aspects of execution of a transaction and creating new business presentations, including but not limited to financial analysis/modeling, industry research, preparation of offering memoranda and other written materials, interaction with clients, and efficient use of the Firm’s resources.
• Manage, lead and execute transactions with minimal supervision, and coordinate activities of all junior and senior team members, the client, lawyers and accountants.
• Be an effective manager of junior resources; play an active role in mentorship and training.
• Play a role in managing relationships with key clients.
• Apply market/deal experience and knowledge to generate innovative solutions to client problems.
• Perform corporate, accounting and business due diligence of corporate finance and M&A transactions within the Real Estate industry.
• Execute equity capital fund raises, including preparing prospectuses and investor presentations; lead sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4+ years of prior investment banking experience
• 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA Degree Preferred
• 2+ years of Real Estate banking experience preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
Regulated Role
This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & FCA - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
