Position Summary:
The Vice President will join the Asset Management team and will work broadly across the Hudson platforms to communicate strategies, make recommendations with respect to asset management initiatives and communicate key updates to senior management. The Vice President will work closely with various portfolio managers across Hudson’s commercial real estate funds to prepare communications and recommendations to the Head of Asset Management, Americas. Primary asset classes of focus will be commercial real estate and commercial real estate debt. On an on-going basis, the Vice President will be responsible for portfolio management reporting and tasked with reviewing and communicating portfolio-level and fund-level capital and asset management decisions.
Essential Functions:
• Work with portfolio managers from Real Estate Fund asset management and investment teams to review and communicate fund-level strategies to senior management
• Work with the Head of Asset Management to prepare key on-going fund-level updates, communications, and recommendations for senior management
• Review analysis and recommendations to support key asset monetization and financing decisions
• Review and roll up annual and quarterly business plan forecasting for fund investments
• Analyze monthly performance of investments to identify trends, risks, liquidity issues, and potential for monetization
• Verify that investment performance and asset management initiatives are in-line with projections
• Liaise with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure proper liquidity and capital planning for fund-level asset management initiatives
• Liaise with Investor Reporting to ensure proper reporting to investors
• Provide support to various asset management initiatives, including the development and maintenance of reporting tools used by senior management
• Execute ad hoc financial and reporting projects
• Monitor industry news and leverage existing information to proactively inform leadership of relevant market trends
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to synthesize detailed information from multiple data sources into a concise, well-organized format that identifies key risks, opportunities, and investment targets for senior-level fund management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to quickly learn new businesses and identify key performance drivers
• Keen understanding of risk, capital, and leverage
• Strong financial, accounting and quantitative skills
• Good understanding of financial models
• Good understanding of financial statement analysis, valuation and cash flow forecasting
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to identify key stakeholders and ensure they are in the appropriate communications loop
• Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
• Ability to manage a team
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment; ability to multi-task is a must
• Ability to think strategically and to creatively solve problems and anticipate issues before they arise
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage time
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred
Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity or other finance related field
• Experience in financial institutions, accounting or real estate is a plus
Computer Skills:
• Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required
